LA Phil • Editorial and Collateral

The LA Phil, one of the largest performing arts organizations in the U.S., presents more than 250 concerts annually at its two iconic venues: Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the most amazing places to experience performances by artists from around the world, and is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, an internationally renowned orchestra. The legendary Hollywood Bowl has seen concerts, since 1922, by everyone from the Beatles to Yo-Yo Ma.

I’ve been honored to work with the LA Phil to create editorial and collateral design over the years, starting by supporting collateral production for the marketing team and their core branding – from digital ads, brochures, flyers to donor forms and mailers. And then taking over editorial layout for both venues’ program magazines and their almost-daily concert schedule.

Magazine Program Layout

LA Phil Editorial and Collateral design meant working with the Publications department on a daily basis to gather, assess and structure raw text and images from writers, artists and producers to build finished magazine layouts, based on LA Phil’s core design, from start to finish for all Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl concert programs. Fast-paced fun!

These are a few samples from various seasons, and the over 700 magazines we created.

Collateral Design

The below represent a handful of the various print and digital collateral created while working with the LA Phil’s marketing team and art department.
